What the debtor pays. The full invoice plus fixed-sum compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 — £40 per invoice under £1,000, £70 from £1,000, and £100 from £10,000.

What you pay us. £11.50 in total — £2 for the reminder and £9.50 for the LBA. No success fee and no percentage of the principal or the statutory compensation.

What you pay the solicitor. £25.00 review fee plus VAT, paid to the reviewing solicitor, not to RobinReturn. For now you pay the solicitor directly.

What you take home. £4,853.50 — more than you originally invoiced, because the statutory compensation is yours to keep. Statutory interest is on top and depends on how long the invoice is overdue.

The RobinReturn fee is what you pay us; your debtor pays the invoice straight to your bank — we never hold your money and take no commission. Estimates include fees from earlier stages (£2 reminder, £9.50 LBA) and the £25 review fee (before VAT) paid to the reviewing solicitor. Court fees and statutory interest are recoverable from the debtor where the court agrees. Our fees and the review fee are shown exclusive of VAT; court fees are exempt from VAT.

FAQs

Pricing questions,
answered.

How much does RobinReturn cost?

RobinReturn is pay per action, and every price is shown before you pay. A polite reminder is £2, a Letter Before Action is £9.50 plus a £25.00 review fee plus VAT, paid to the reviewing solicitor, and preparing a County Court claim is a flat £35. You pay only for the stage you reach. HMCTS court fees are separate and paid to the court.

How am I billed?

Per action. You pay for each step when you choose to take it, and every price is shown before you pay. Your first reminder sequence is free. After that, if a £2 reminder gets you paid, that is all you spend.

Why is there a separate review fee on a Letter Before Action?

The £25.00 review fee plus VAT is paid to the reviewing solicitor, not to RobinReturn, so it is shown separately from our £9.50 fee. For now you pay the solicitor directly.

Do you take a commission on what I recover?

No. RobinReturn takes no percentage of the debt, the interest or the statutory compensation. The fixed fee for each action is the whole charge, and what the debtor pays you is yours to keep.

How much are the court fees?

The HMCTS fee to issue a claim scales with the amount claimed — from £35 for the smallest claims to £455 near the £10,000 small-claims limit. It is paid to the court, not to RobinReturn, and you can usually recover it from the debtor if you win.

Is VAT included in the price?

RobinReturn's fees are shown exclusive of VAT, and so is the review fee: the reviewing solicitor adds VAT to it on their own invoice. HMCTS court fees are exempt from VAT. Your Stripe receipt sets out the VAT treatment of our fees for your company.

Do I get RobinReturn's fees back from the debtor?

The statutory compensation a Letter Before Action claims — £40, £70 or £100 by invoice size — is recoverable from the debtor in full, and the court issue fee is normally recovered if you win. RobinReturn's own preparation fees are your cost of using the service, not a charge added to the judgment.
